FAQs

  • Schedule a free consultation call with me. My hope is for therapy to be a deeply enriching experience for you. I wholeheartedly believe that the relationship between you and your therapist is essential for your success, which is why I offer a free consultation call for us to see if we are a good fit. This call is a chance for us to briefly get to know each other, discuss your goals and how I can help, as well as answer any questions you may have. If we feel like we may be a good fit, we will then schedule our first appointment.

Another option is to forego the consultation and schedule immediately if, after reviewing my website, you feel confident that we are a good fit.

  • Visit the Contact page to schedule your initial consultation or, if you choose to forego the consultation, your first appointment.

If you are a current client of Rooted Wellness Center, you can access your client portal for scheduling via the link at the main navigation of this website.

  • 50 minutes of individual therapy is $160.

50 minutes of EMDR therapy is $160.

50 minutes of couples therapy is $175.

  • Yes, I do. It is important that therapy is accessible, so I am happy to work with you to find a rate that is affordable for you! Please reach out with any questions.

  • My practice is considered private pay only, and I do not take insurance.

I can, however, provide a super bill which is an invoice that you can provide to your insurance company to see if you are eligible for out-of-network benefits to receive partial or full reimbursement.

  • Please cancel at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled session. If you do not cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, you will be charged the full session fee.

  • The first session is a get to know each other session. We will go over practice policies and discuss the therapeutic process. I will then gather history by asking you questions about your life and what brings you to therapy. There will also be time for you to ask me questions, so you can begin to know me and feel comfortable with me. We will spend time discussing your goals for therapy (and don’t worry if you aren’t exactly sure yet what they are because we can figure them out together). In addition, I always aim to offer something tangible that you can take with you to help with a current symptom or to begin the therapy process.

  • Sessions are 50 minutes long. I can extend sessions to 90 minutes or more upon request. You can also do more than one session per week if you desire.

  • Yes! Monday through Wednesday I end by 8:30 pm so I can accommodate 9-5 work schedules.

  • The short answer is there can be if you want there to be. It is not often that I plan homework, but I do often come up with homework assignments on the fly during session that are applicable to what we are working on. The intent of homework is to help you build a practice of developing curiosity for your inner world, increasing self-awareness, and skill building. Homework simply enhances the therapy process and, consequently, your growth and development. If that sounds appealing to you, then I am happy to recommend homework.

  • In general, holistic means relating to the whole of something, rather than just one part. Holistic therapy considers all aspects of a person’s being and their life (not just a symptom or a single issue) in consideration for treatment. The mind-body connection is often included, as well. Nutrition, movement, rest, community, and spirituality (if that is important to you) may be discussed. Things like acupuncture, reiki, dietitians, and functional medicine doctors can be helpful as adjunctive treatment to therapy for many people. I often incorporate resources and outside referrals to local practitioners if desired.

  • Collaborative therapy means that you and I work together as a team. Therapy is not something you do alone. I am there with you in the process every step of the way. We will develop your treatment goals together and we will check in frequently throughout the process about how things are going.

  • EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, which a technique that stimulates both hemispheres of the brain to result in enhanced emotional processing. EMDR is known for using eye movements as the mode of bilateral stimulation, where you follow the therapist’s hands with your eyes back and forth laterally. More often than not, my clients prefer to listen to alternating tones through headphones or to feel alternating buzzing sensations through paddles held in their hands. I provide equipment for all modes of bilateral stimulation, and you will have a chance to explore all options to see what mode you prefer.

  • Yes, you can!
